Ginger Ale

  1. Bring the ginger and plain water to a boil; then reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and cover.
  3. Let steep an additional 10 minutes.
  4. Strain and add carbonated water and lemon juice just before serving as well as cayenne powder if using.
