Four Layer Squares
- 1 pkg. of any good brownie mix
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) chopped nuts (walnut, pecan, cashew, etc.)
- 2 cups (475 ml) graham cracker crumbs
- 1 cup (225 ml) chocolate chips
- 1 small can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) chopped nuts (as above)
- 6 tbsp (90 ml) butter
- 3 cups (700 ml) sifted icing sugar
- 1-1/2 tsp (7 ml) vanilla
- 3 tbsp (45 ml) milk
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) butter
- 2 oz (56 grm). square of unsweetened chocolate
- Following the package directions, make the brownie mixture up.
- You may use your own brownie recipe rather than a packaged mix.
- Spread the brownie batter in a 9X13 inch pan
- Mix the ingredients for the second layer together and spread it carefully over the unbaked brownie layer.
- Bake at 350 degrees (175 C.) for 30 minutes.
- Let cool completely before doing layers 3 and 4.
- Mix together the ingredients for layer three.
- Spread layer three over the cooled brownies.
- Melt the butter and bakers chocolate together in your microwave or over a hot water bath.
- Using a tsp, swirl the melted chocolate over the surface of the third layer.
- Place it in the refrigerator for several hours (it just tastes better when it has had some time to rest).
