Four Layer Squares

  1. Following the package directions, make the brownie mixture up.
  2. You may use your own brownie recipe rather than a packaged mix.
  3. Spread the brownie batter in a 9X13 inch pan
  4. Mix the ingredients for the second layer together and spread it carefully over the unbaked brownie layer.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees (175 C.) for 30 minutes.
  6. Let cool completely before doing layers 3 and 4.
  7. Mix together the ingredients for layer three.
  8. Spread layer three over the cooled brownies.
  9. Melt the butter and bakers chocolate together in your microwave or over a hot water bath.
  10. Using a tsp, swirl the melted chocolate over the surface of the third layer.
  11. Place it in the refrigerator for several hours (it just tastes better when it has had some time to rest).
