Cream Cheese Brownies
- 1 c. butter
- 4 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
- 2 1/2 c. sugar, divided
- 1 c. flour
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 c. walnuts
- 2 tsp. vanilla, divided
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
- In a 2-quart saucepan, melt butter and chocolate over low heat.
- With wire whisk, beat in 2 cups sugar and 3 eggs until blended.
- Stir in flour, salt, nuts and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
- Spread evenly in pan.
- Beat cream cheese, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, 1 egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla until well blended, about 3 minutes.
- Drop 6 dollops of cream cheese mixture on top of batter.
- Swirl with a spatula to marbleize.
- Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool pan on wire rack.
- Cut when completely cool.
