Strawberry-Cream Cake

  1. Heat oven to 350F.
  2. Reserve 7 strawberries for garnish; mash remaining berries.
  3. Beat next 5 ingredients in large bowl until blended.
  4. Add 1 cup mashed berries; mix well.
  5. Pour into 2 greased and floured 9-inch round pans.
  6. Bake 30 min.
  7. or until toothpick inserted in centers comes out clean.
  8. Cool cakes in pans 10 min.
  9. Remove from pans to wire racks; cool completely.
  10. Meanwhile, drain remaining mashed strawberries.
  11. Spoon frosting into medium bowl.
  12. Add mashed berries; mix well.
  13. Whisk in COOL WHIP until blended.
  14. Stack cake layers on plate, filling and frosting with COOL WHIP mixture.
  15. Garnish with reserved strawberries.
