Walnut Roast
- 3 c. whole wheat bread crumbs
- 1 1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
- 3 c. cooked brown rice
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 1/4 c. water
- 1 tsp. sage
- 1/3 c. whole wheat flour
- 3/4 c. sunflower seeds
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 c. water
- 1 tsp. salt
- Saute chopped vegetables with sage, salt and soy sauce in 1/4 cup water.
- Blend flour and sunflower seeds with 2 cups water. Add to sauteed vegetables and simmer a few minutes.
- Place in bowl bread crumbs, walnuts and brown rice.
- Add sauteed vegetables and sunflower mixture.
- Mix well.
- Pour into casserole dish and bake at 350u0b0 for 45 to 60 minutes, until well browned.
- Serve with Chicken-like or Cashew Gravy.
- Serves 8 to 10.
