Chikuwa Isobe Fries

  1. Cut the chikuwa in half vertically so that they cook well.
  2. Make the batter.
  3. Make sure not to stack the batter coated chikuwa.
  4. Immediately cover with a lid to keep the grease from splattering, and flip them over while keeping an eye on them.
  5. They are done once the grease has evaporated.
  6. Enjoy.
  7. I also add them to my high school son's bento.
  8. It always makes me happy when he tells me his bento was delicious.
  9. If you mix the batter inside a mushroom or tofu container, then you can throw it away after using, and there is nothing to wash.
  10. If you place them in a box made out of newspaper, then there are no dishes.
