Irish Soda Bread

  1. Heat oven to 400u0b0.
  2. Sift flour and next 4 ingredients.
  3. Cut in butter with 2 knives or pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.
  4. Stir in raisins and seeds.
  5. Mix together vinegar and milk.
  6. Make a well in flour mixture and add liquid all at once, stirring with a fork until dry ingredients are moistened.
  7. Turn out on a lightly floured board.
  8. Knead gently 8 to 10 times.
  9. Shape into a ball.
  10. Place in greased pie plate.
  11. Cut a cross from side to side.
  12. Brush top with milk.
  13. Bake at 400u0b0 for 15 minutes, then 375u0b0 for 30 more minutes.
  14. Serves 8 to 10.
