Glazed Shallots and Walnuts

  1. If shallots are large, cut into halves or quarters.
  2. Place all ingredients except walnuts in a large, wide skillet.
  3. Bring mixture to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 5 minutes.
  5. Remove lid and cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add walnuts and cook until very little liquid remains, about 5 minutes.
  7. Stir well before serving.
