Obihiro Pork Don ~ Big Bowl with Pork Offcuts!
- 300 grams Pork offuts
- 3 tbsp Crystal sugar (or normal sugar)
- 3 tbsp Sake
- 5 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 as much as you want! Cooked white rice
- 1 White part of a scallion (optional)
- 1 raw or soft-set, to your preference Egg (optional)
- Use pork loin or belly or whatever cuts of pork preferred.
- Heat the pan and spread the slices of pork as you stir fry quickly over high heat.
- Transfer the pork to a plate when it's still slightly tinged pink.
- Plot the oil in the pan with a paper towel.
- Add crystal sugar, sake, soy sauce in the pan and heat it up!
- Cook over medium or high heat.
- Keep cooking even when the sugar is dissolved.
- Be patient until the sauce thickens.
- When the sauce is thickened, add the meat!
- Mix with the sauce!!
- Work quickly, about a minute.
- Serve rice in a bowl and top with the meat and the sauce.
- I made fried rice with the leftover sauce.
- The sauce goes well with rice balls wrapped with sliced meat.
