Obihiro Pork Don ~ Big Bowl with Pork Offcuts!

  1. Use pork loin or belly or whatever cuts of pork preferred.
  2. Heat the pan and spread the slices of pork as you stir fry quickly over high heat.
  3. Transfer the pork to a plate when it's still slightly tinged pink.
  4. Plot the oil in the pan with a paper towel.
  5. Add crystal sugar, sake, soy sauce in the pan and heat it up!
  6. Cook over medium or high heat.
  7. Keep cooking even when the sugar is dissolved.
  8. Be patient until the sauce thickens.
  9. When the sauce is thickened, add the meat!
  10. Mix with the sauce!!
  11. Work quickly, about a minute.
  12. Serve rice in a bowl and top with the meat and the sauce.
  13. I made fried rice with the leftover sauce.
  14. The sauce goes well with rice balls wrapped with sliced meat.
