Aunt Pauline's Pot Pie Recipe
- 1 c. flour
- 1 dsh salt
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 x egg Lowfat milk as needed
- 2 x potatoes sliced
- 2 x onions sliced
- 1 x red or possibly green pepper sliced
- 1/2 lb bacon or possibly ham sliced Salt to taste Freshly-grnd black pepper to taste
- 1/4 c. dry parsley
- 1/2 c. butter Dough strips
- 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 Tbsp. paprika
- To make the dough strips: Mix together flour, salt , shortening, egg and sufficient lowfat milk to make ingredients stick together.
- Roll thin and cut into 1/2-inch strips.
- In a greased 9- by 13-inch casserole dish add in ingredients.
- Divide into 2 equal layers the potato, onion, pepper, bacon or possibly ham.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Sprinkle with parsley.
- Add in butter.
- Then top with dough strips.
- Cover with parmesan cheese.
- Sprinkle with paprika.
- Bake covered in an oven at 350 degrees for 45 min.
- Uncover and bake additional 15 min or possibly till top is browned.
