Holiday Calzone Recipe
- 1 pound thawed, uncooked frzn bread dough
- 1/4 c. butter, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt, mixed with parsley
- Healthy pinch of Italian herbs (oregano, basil, rosemary)
- 2 to 4 slices each of: Provolone cheese, Mozzarella cheese, Italian ham, salami, pepperoni
- Roll or possibly pat out dough to create a rectangle about 14 to 8 inches.
- Blend together butter, garlic salt, parsley and herbs.
- Spread half the butter mix over dough.
- Layer meat and cheese on half the dough lengthwise.
- Fold dough over filling.
- Seal it at seams and end.
- Brush top with remaining butter mix.
- Place on a greased jelly roll pan.
- Bake at 450 degrees for 20 min or possibly till golden brown.
- Serves 6 as a main dish or possibly 12 as an appetizer.
