Apple stack cake
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 8 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup butter
- 5 cup SR flour
- 1 sweetened dried apples
- Preheat oven to 350F
- Spray a 10 inch cast iron skillet with cooking spray
- Divide dough into 20 balls all about the same size
- Roll each ball out into a thin layer that is the size of your skillet
- Do all 20 layers this way and bake one at a time in oven until golden brown.
- These cakes will be crisp.
- Cook your dried apples with a little water.
- You want them to be thick.
- When they are cool sweeten them to your liking and spread 2 tablespoons of apples between each layer of cake.
- This cake can be a 20 layer cake or you can make 2 10 layers which is what I do.
- I freeze one cake for later
