Braised Red Cabbage

  1. Melt butter in heavy pot over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and cook for 3 minutes.
  3. Add apple and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Add in cabbage and stir to coat.
  5. Season and add vinegar, water and brown sugar.
  6. Bring to a simmer and cover.
  7. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 15-20 minutes until cabbage is tender.
  8. Add more water if necessary.
  9. Serve hot
