Cornbread Dressing(For Turkey)
- 1 recipe cornbread (Dada's)
- 4 slices toasted bread, cubed
- 1 c. cooked rice
- 1/2 c. green onions, chopped
- 1/2 c. white onions, chopped
- 1 c. celery, chopped
- 5 eggs, beaten
- chicken bouillon in hot water (use to moisten)
- 2 eggs, boiled and chopped
- 1 stick oleo, melted
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. sage or poultry seasoning
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 c. pecans, chopped
- Crumble cornbread.
- Add bread cubes and rice.
- Saute onions and celery in margarine until tender.
- Add to cornbread mixture. Add beaten eggs, boiled eggs and margarine.
- Add spices and soup. Add pecans last.
- If dressing is too dry, add either bouillon or water to moisten.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 45 minutes (don't overcook). Dressing should be quite moist when done.
