Turkey drumsticks
- 6 each Turkey drumsticks
- 1 cup Pesto sauce
- 1 cup Mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp garlic salt
- 4 tsp ground black pepper
- 4 tbsp oregano
- 4 tbsp basil
- 4 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp olive oil,
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 2 tbsp shallots
- 1/3 cup dry white wine
- 1 each yellow onion- sliced in rings
- 1 cup whole grape tomatoes- optional
- Preheat oven to 375
- Clean drumsticks with vinegar, pat dry, and pierce in several places
- Boil a pot of water with 4 lemon wedges.
- Once water reaches heaping boil, remove from heat.
- Place drumsticks in water, move around with a spoon or fork, remove, and pat dry and set aside- this step is optional
- Add all ingredients except drumsticks, tomatoes, and onions together
- Once marinade is mixed together, add drumsticks.
- Mix with your hands to make sure everything is coated.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight or 4 hrs
- Heat large pan with olive oil with medium to high heat.
- Once hot, add minced garlic and shallots.
- I use a griddle pan for the grill marks.
- Carefully, add the drumsticks.
- Give it as great sear.
- I'd say 4 minutes on ALL sides.
- Lower the heat a little bit and add the marinade.
- Allow to cook together for about 10 minutes covered.
- Uncover.
- Ooooooooooooh, can you smell that.
- This is optional but at this time, you can add 2 tablespoons of the cooking wine again.
- Cover with foil paper, poke holes, and place in oven for 40 minutes - 20 on each side.
- When turning after the 1st 20 minutes, add the onions and grape tomatoes.
- Cover with foil again.
- Optional- uncover and broil for 10 minutes tops, tucking the onions under the drumsticks.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool off.
