Bacon Cheeseburger Pie
- 1 dash Canola Oil
- 5 slices Turkey Bacon
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 1/2 teaspoons Smoked Paprika
- 1 dash Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/2 whole Onion, Peeled And Diced
- 1/2 cups Dry Bisquick Mix (not The Liquid You Shake And Pour)
- 2 whole Eggs
- 1 cup Milk
- 4 ounces, weight Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- Ketchup, As Needed For Drizzling On Top
- 1.
- Heat the canola oil in a cast iron skillet over medium high heat.
- Get the turkey bacon slices into the hot pan to crisp up, which takes about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- When theyre done, remove them to a plate lined with paper towel to drain them and let them crisp up even more.
- When they are cool enough to handle, crumble them and set them aside.
- 2.
- Meanwhile, add the beef to the pan to cook in the fat rendered out from the bacon.
- There wont be that much because turkey bacon is pretty lean.
- Brown the beef while breaking it up.
- While it cooks, flavor it with the salt, smoked paprika and Worcestershire sauce.
- Once the meat is completely browned, stir in the onion and let it soften for a minute.
- Take the pan off of the heat and set it aside to cool.
- 3.
- Preheat the oven to 400 F. Take a 9-inch pie pan and spray it well with cooking spray.
- In a bowl, thoroughly whisk together the Bisquick mix, eggs and milk until it is smooth.
- Spoon the cooled beef mixture into the prepared pie pan and press it down into an even layer.
- Sprinkle the crumbled bacon in a layer on top of the beef, then evenly spread out a layer of the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Slowly pour the Bisquick mixture on top of everything and let it seep into all of the nooks and crannies.
- 4.
- Bake the bacon cheeseburger pie for about 25 minutes, until puffy and golden on top.
- Take it out of the oven and let it cool for 5 or so minutes, then slice it up and serve immediately with a drizzle of ketchup on top!
- Depending on how hungry your crowd is, this easily feeds 4 to 6 people.
