Apple Crisp

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine first 4 ingredients.
  2. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  3. Press 1/2 into a greased 9-inch square baking pan. Cover with apples.
  4. In saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, water and vanilla.
  5. Cook and stir until thick and clear.
  6. Pour over apples.
  7. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture.
  8. Bake at 350u0b0 for about 50 minutes or until the apples are tender.
  9. Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.
  10. Yields 8 servings.
