Vegetable Garden Meat Pie Recipe
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1/3 c. catsup
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/8 teaspoon chili pwdr
- 1/4 c. finely minced onion
- 1 c. Wheat Chex cereal (bite size wheat squares), crushed to make 1/2 c.
- 1 pound lean grnd beef
- 1 (10 ounce.) pkg. frzn mixed vegetables (cooked and liquid removed - unsalted)
- 1/2 c. and 1/4 c. shredded process Cheddar cheese (3 ounce.)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine egg, catsup, salt, Worcestershire sauce, chili pwdr and onion.
- Stir in cereal crumbs.
- Fold in grnd beef.
- Press gently into 10 inch pie plate, shaping to fit.
- Toss vegetables with 1/2 c. cheese.
- Turn into shell.
- Sprinkle remaining 1/4 c. cheese over vegetables.
- Bake 25 to 30 min or possibly till done.
- Let stand 5 - 10 min.
- (Makes 4 to 6 servings.)
