Soft Buns for Sandwiches

  1. Other than the butter, mix together all the ingredients and knead.
  2. Once the dough comes together, add the butter in and knead again.
  3. Once you've made a nice ball, let the dough rise for the first rising till it has doubled in size.
  4. Once it's done, divide into 6 portions, make them into balls, and then let them rest for 15 minutes.
  5. Roll out the dough into an oval shape and fold into thirds.
  6. Fold in half, pinch the edges tightly and gently turn it into a roll-like shape.
  7. Moisten the top, and cover with the oatmeal.
  8. Put them on a baking sheet, and slash the tops.
  9. Let the dough rise a second time.
  10. Spray with water and then bake them in an oven for 17 minutes at 210C.
  11. They are fragrant and fluffy when done.
  12. Here's a roll with baby salad greens and cured ham.
  13. The hot dog version has no slashes on top.
