Tin Box Smoked Salmon
- 2 salmon fillets
- 2 cups wood chips (Hickory works nicely)
- 1 bunch thyme
- 1 bunch sage
- 1 bunch basil
- To make your smoker you will need.
- 1 Large tin cookie can.
- 1 Piece chicken wire.
- To prepare your smoker, take the lid and punch 6 small holes.
- Layer the bottom with your wood chips.
- Then spread the thyme, sage, and basil on the chips.
- Put in your piece of chicken wire.
- Take your salmon fillets and place on the chicken wire being sure to avoid touching the edges.
- Put the top on and place your loaded tin can directly on the stove top at medium-high heat for 5 minutes.
- Check the salmon with a knife to make sure it is fully cooked, continue cooking until no longer translucent.
