Grandma's Sourdough Bread

  1. Put initial starter in fridge for 3-5 days.
  2. Take out and feed with starter ingredients.
  3. Let stand room temp (covered with cloth) 8-12 hours.
  4. Take out 1 cup and return to fridge.
  5. Use rest in making bread, or discard.
  6. Feed every 3 to 5 days.
  7. Bread: Mix first 5 ingredients.
  8. Add flour.
  9. Put dough into large greased bowl, turning to oil both sides.
  10. Let stand overnite.
  11. In morning, punch down.
  12. Knead and divide into 2 parts.
  13. Knewad each part 8-10 times.
  14. Put in greased pans.
  15. Let rise 4 to 5 hours.
  16. Bake at 350F for 30 to 40 minutes.
