Russian Cream

  1. Combine sugar and gelatin in saucepan; stir in water and let stand 5 minutes.
  2. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil.
  3. Remove from heat; stir in whipping cream.
  4. Stir vanilla into sour cream in a bowl.
  5. Add to hot mixture slowly until well mixed.
  6. Pour into a bowl or mold.
  7. Chill, covered, at least 4 hours or
  8. overnight.
  9. Serve over fruit.
