Just-Add-Water Instant Oatmeal with Apples and Cinnamon
- 1/3 cup instant oatmeal
- 2 dried apple rings, chopped
- 1 tablespoon apple butter
- 1 tablespoon raisins
- 1/2 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon light brown sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Kosher salt
- Special equipment: an 8-ounce lidded heat-safe container
- Put the oatmeal, apple rings, apple butter, raisins, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and a pinch of salt in an 8-ounce lidded heat-safe container.
- Secure the lid, and refrigerate up to overnight.
- When ready to eat, add 1/2 cup boiling water, stir gently and cover until the oats are tender and the apple rings have softened, about 3 minutes.
- Stir again, and eat warm.
