Apple And Honey Scones Recipe
- 2 c. All-purpose flour
- 2/3 c. Wheat germ
- 2 tsp Baking pwdr
- 1 tsp Grnd cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Baking soda
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Grnd nutmeg
- 1/3 c. Butter or possibly margarine, cool
- 1 lrg Tart apples, peeled and chop ped
- 1/2 c. Lowfat milk
- 1/4 c. Honey Topping
- 2 tsp Wheat germ
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 1/4 tsp Grnd cinnamon
- In a large bowl, combineflour,wheat germ, baking pwdr, cinnamon, baking soda, salt and nutmeg.
- Cut in the butter till the mix resembles coarse crumbs.
- combine the apple, lowfat milk and honey; add in to dry ingredients just till moistened.
- Turn onto a floured surfac, knead gently 5-6 times.
- Gently patt dough into a 9-in.
- circle, 1/2 in.
- thick.
- Combine topping ingredients; sprinkle over dough.
- Cut into eight wedges and place on a greased baking sheet.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 15-18 min.
