Thanksgiving Turkey Burgers
- 1 lb Ground turkey
- 1 lb Pork sage sausage
- 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (plain)
- 2 Eggs
- 1 tsp Lawry's seasoned salt
- 1 tsp Dried parsley
- 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp Onion powder
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper
- 1/2 tsp dry rubbed Sage
- 1/2 tsp Fennel crushed
- 1/4 tsp Celery seeds
- 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup Cranberry sauce or jelly
- 2 tbsp Sour cream
- Mix ingredients for cranberry aioli and refrigerate until needed.
- Line a baking tray with parchment or wax paper.
- Mix bread crumbs, eggs and seasonings well.
- Then add in the pork and Turkey and mix well.
- Press mixture into patties (with a dimple in the middle) and refrigerate for four hours.
- After refrigerating for 4 hours place patties into the freezer.
- "Yes I said freezer".
- Freeze overnight.
- (without this step the burgers will fall apart on the grill) After 3 or 4 hours gently break the patties loose from the parchment paper and return to the freezer.
- Set up your grill for Direct Heat.
- Remove patties from the freezer and grill while still frozen.
- When the juices begin to collect on the top, flip burgers over and continue cooking until well then.
- These burgers will take a little longer to cook, just keep an eye on them and rotate around the grill as needed.
- Being gentle with the burgers at all times.
- Serve with toasted buns and cranberry aioli.
