Beef And Mushroom Barbecue On A Skewer ... Recipe
- 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. minced scallion
- 1 Tbsp. minced garlic
- 1 tsp Korean sesame oil
- 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds cracked
- 1/4 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 12 x scallions, green part only cut 3"-long pcs
- 1/2 lb sirloin or possibly flank steak cut strips 1/2" wide by 3" long and 1/4" thick
- 1/4 lb mushrooms halved lengthwise
- Mix soy sauce, minced scallions, garlic, sesame oil and seeds, pepper and sugar together well to make seasoning mix.
- Set aside.
- Put 2 or possibly 3 pcs of scallion on a skewer in a crosswise arrangement of slices, then the steak, then a mushroom and repeat 4 times to cover the skewer.
- Scallion, steak, mushroom in which order.
- Soak each skewer in the seasoning for 1/2 hour, turning it over once during this process.
- The skewers may be cooked over charcoal (that is preferable), but a gas or possibly electric grill may be used.
- Cook for about 5 min to be sure the meat is done.
- Serve hot with rice, kimchi and your other favorite Korean side dishes.
- This recipe yields 8 skewers.
