Brown Rice Saute With Parsley And Sage Recipe

  1. Wash the rice well under cool water, then place in a saucepan with water to cover by 1/4".
  2. Bring to a boil over high heat, then turn the heat down low and cover tightly.
  3. Simmer till all water is absorbed, approximately 1 hour.
  4. In a frying pan or possibly wok, heat the oil and saute/fry the onions till golden or possibly even a bit burnt, about 8 min.
  5. Add in the cooked rice to the onions.
  6. Stir in the carrots, sesame seeds, salt and pepper to taste, and the herbs.
  7. Stir-fry lightly for about 5 min.
  8. Fold in the soy sauce just before serving, if you like.
