Cinnamon Brownies

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine cocoa and baking soda; blend in 13 cup melted butter.
  2. Add boiling water, stirring until thickened.
  3. Stir in sugar, eggs, vanilla and remaining butter.
  4. Add flour, cinnamon and salt.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts if using.
  6. Pour into a greased 13 inch x 9 inch x 2 inch baking pan.
  7. Bake at 350F (180C) for 40 minutes or until brownies test done.
  8. Cool.
  9. For frosting, cream butter in a mixing bowl.
  10. Combine cocoa, sugar and cinnamon; add alternately with the milk.
  11. Beat to a spreading consistency; add vanilla.
  12. Add more milk if necessary.
  13. Spread over the brownies.
