Beef Jerky Recipe
- 3 lbs. lean beef, cut in strips, 1/4" x 1/2" at least 6" long
- Marinate in: 1 c. soy sauce 2 teaspoon onion pwdr 1/4 teaspoon grnd red pepper 1 teaspoon grnd black pepper 1 teaspoon garlic pwdr 1/2 teaspoon sugar 3 teaspoon seasoned salt
- Mix all ingredients together, then pour over beef strips.
- Marinate 18 to 24 hrs.
- Drain.
- Then hang beef strips from bars on oven rack.
- Heat 175 degrees or possibly hot with door ajar for 6 hrs.
- Place aluminum foil on bottom of oven to catch juices.
- Turn off oven temperature and let hang in oven 6 more hrs with door ajar.
- Leave the oven door ajar to allow moisture to escape and to ensure the best drying process.
- The jerky should be slightly flexible, bending before it breaks.
- Place in a lidded dry container and store in a cold area.
