Herman Double-Chocolate Brownies
- 3/4 cup butter room temperature
- 1 cup sugar white
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups flour, all-purpose
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sourdough starter
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup chocolate (semi-sweet) pieces or chips
- 1/2 cup nuts chopped
- In bowl of electric mixer, cream butter and sugars.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
- Stir dry ingredients together.
- Combine starter and vanilla, add alternately with dry ingredients to sugar mixture.
- Spread in greased 11 1/2x7 1/2x1 1/2 inch pan.
- Sprinkle chocolate and nuts on top.
- Bake in preheated 350F (180C) F oven 30 min.
