Apple Pie Braid

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Melt margarine in large skillet on medium-high heat.
  3. Add sugar and apples; cook 8 to 10 min.
  4. or until apples are softened and sauce is thickened, stirring occasionally.
  5. Divide dough for Cheddar Pie Crust in half; place half the dough on lightly floured surface.
  6. Roll into 12x10-inch rectangle.
  7. Spread half the cream cheese product down centre of pastry; then spoon half the apple mixture over cream cheese.
  8. Use sharp knife to cut pastry on both sides of apple mixture into 1-inch-wide strips; fold alternately over apple mixture to resemble braid.
  9. Fold over pastry at both ends of braid; press into braided pastry to seal.
  10. Repeat with remaining ingredients to make second braid.
  11. Place braids on large parchment-covered rimmed baking sheet.
  12. Bake 25 to 30 min.
  13. or until golden brown.
  14. Transfer to wire racks; cool slightly.
