Shrimp Gumbo

  1. In
  2. a
  3. large
  4. pot
  5. (8
  6. quarts),
  7. chop
  8. bacon into small pieces.
  9. Add
  10. onion
  11. and
  12. garlic,
  13. then
  14. saute.
  15. Add all other ingredients except for shrimp and simmer for 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Add shrimp and cook 15 minutes.
  16. Serve over rice.
  17. (If thicker gumbo is preferred, 2 to 3 tablespoons of flour may be added.)
