Less Mess Mushroom Burgers
- 1/2 cups Mushrooms, Chopped Fine
- 8 ounces, weight 90% Lean Ground Beef (turkey, Chicken, Or Pork May Be Substituted, But It Must Be Lean)
- 2 Tablespoons Hamburger Seasoning (McCormick Grillmates Or Amazing Taste Are Good Ones)
- 2 whole Hamburger Buns (about 3 Inches In Diameter)
- 2 ounces, weight Cheese (2 Ounces Is About 2 Slices Cheddar Or Swiss, Or 2 Tablespoons Of Blue Cheese Crumbles)
- 2 Tablespoons Ketchup (optional)
- 2 Tablespoons Mayonnaise (optional)
- 1 teaspoon Mustard (Optional)
- Burger Toppings As Desired (lettuce, Tomato, Pickles, Onion, Etc.)

- Place chopped mushrooms in a small skillet over medium heat.
- Cook until they release their moisture and are dry again, about 5 minutes.
- They should shrink quite a bit.
- Set aside to cool for about 5 minutes.

- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- In a medium bowl, combine cooked mushrooms, ground beef and half of the seasoning.
- Be gentle when handling the meat.

- Divide the mixture in two equal pieces and shape into a patty that is about 1/2 inch thick.
- Sprinkle one side of each patty with seasoning and place it seasoned side down on the preheated grill.
- Sprinkle the remaining seasoning on the unseasoned side.
- Cook for 2 minutes, flip, and cook for 3 minutes.
- If needed, cook for additional time until the burger is no longer pink inside and the meat is fully cooked.
- Remove the burgers from the grill.

- Serve burgers on the bun with your favorite cheese, condiments and toppings.
