Cranberry Sauce
- 2 lb Fresh Cranberries
- 3 cup Sugar
- 1/2 cup Fresh Orange juice
- 1/3 cup Orange peels
- 1 stick Cinnamon
- 3 clove Star Anise
- This cranberry sauce is definitely a process but its well worth it.
- Take the cranberries and put them in a pot of room temperature water and let the water and the cranberries heat at the same time.
- Turn stove on high heat.
- Add the sugar, cinnamon stick, and the star anise to the cranberries.
- Now depending on how sweet you want yours determines how much sugar you want to add tbrough the process.
- Let the berries cook in a covered pot for about 2 hours.
- By that time the cranberries will have started to pop open.
- Just keep letting the sugar cook down and thicken up four about another hour.
- Add the orange juice and orange peels and stir together.
- Put top back on the pot and let go for about another 2 hours but trun your heat down on a medium to low heat.
- The next time you check the sauce it should be thick with juice but still thick.
- Its ready to go on juice about anything you make for the holidays.
