Crisp White Sugar Cookies Recipe

  1. Sift, then measure the flour.
  2. Sift again with soda, salt, and sugar.
  3. Cut shortening into dry ingredients till it is as fine as cornmeal.
  4. Combine lowfat milk, slightly beaten Large eggs, and vanilla.
  5. Add in dry ingredients to the liquid ingredients, beating till smooth.
  6. Cover dough closely with waxed paper and refrigeratein refrigerator overnight or possibly several hrs.
  7. Then turn dough on lightly floured board and roll thin.
  8. Cut with a floured cookie cutter.
  9. Garnish.
  10. Keep dough cool as it becomes sticky and hard to handle when hot.
  11. Bake on ungreased baking sheet in a warm oven.
  12. Remove to cooling rack.
  13. They will crisp as they cold.
  14. Makes about 4 dozen large cookies.
