Sour Cream Twists Recipe

  1. Mix flour, butter, lowfat sour cream, Large eggs, salt and vanilla.
  2. Dissolve yeast in hot water.
  3. Add in to flour mix; beat till smooth.
  4. Cover and refrigeratethoroughly, from 2 to 24 hrs.
  5. Divide dough in half; keep half chilled.
  6. Roll out other half to an 8"x12" rectangle.
  7. Sprinkle with 3 Tbsp.
  8. sugar.
  9. Fold into thirds, like a letter.
  10. Repeat rolling dough to an 8"x12" rectangle and sprinkling with sugar 2 more times.
  11. Roll into an 8"x12" rectangle and cut into 3/4" x 4" strips.
  12. Twist strips twice; place on greased baking sheets.
  13. Repeat with remaining dough and sugar.
  14. Cover and let rise in a hot place for 30 min.
  15. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 min till lightly browned.
  16. Cold.
  17. Glaze with confectioners' sugar frosting and sprinkle with pecans or possibly almonds.
