Cincinnati-Style Chili

  1. Heat oil.
  2. Add onion.
  3. Cook, stirring until tender.
  4. Add beef or turkey and cook until browned.
  5. Add chili powder, cinnamon, cumin, allspice, cloves, bay leaf, chocolate, broth, tomato sauce and vinegar.
  6. Stir to mix well.
  7. Bring to boiling.
  8. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours until thick, stirring occasionally.
  9. Serve over spaghetti.
  10. Sprinkle with shredded Cheddar cheese.
  11. Makes 8 servings.
