Best Ever Chili Recipe

  1. In Dutch oven:
  2. 1.
  3. Brown meat in 3 Tbsp.
  4. of shortening.
  5. Remove to bowl when done.
  6. 2.
  7. Add in remaining shortening to the pot and saute/fry the onion and garlic.
  8. When wilted, add in the chili pwdr, oregano, cumin and cayenne.
  9. Stir till onions are coated.
  10. 3.
  11. Return meat to pot with remaining ingredients.
  12. Cover and simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  13. Simmer another hour uncovered.
  14. 4.
  15. Serve over whatever kind of beans you prefer.
  16. If canned, they should be thoroughly liquid removed and washed.
