Chili Burgers
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. finely crushed corn chips
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 egg
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chilies, drained
- 2 medium tomatoes, each cut into 4 slices
- 1 c. shredded Monterey Jack cheese (4 oz.)
- 8 hamburger buns, split
- Mix all ingredients except tomatoes, cheese and buns.
- Shape mixture into 8 patties, each about 1/2-inch thick.
- Set oven control to broil and/or 550u0b0.
- Broil patties with tops about 3 inches from heat until medium doneness, 5 to 7 minutes on each side.
- Place 1 tomato slice on each patty; sprinkle with 1 tablespoon cheese.
- Broil just until cheese is melted, about 2 minutes.
- Serve patties in buns.
- Makes 8 sandwiches; 460 calories per sandwich.
