Easy Cheese Fondue

  1. Toss cheese with cornstarch to coat.
  2. Place in heavy saucepan over low heat.
  3. Stir from bottom as cheese begins to melt.
  4. When softened and smooth, gradually add wine, stirring vigorously after each addition, until wine is absorbed.
  5. After all wine is added and fondue is creamy, stir in salt, pepper and nutmeg.
  6. Pour into chafing dish, fondue pot or other flameproof serving container.
