Honey Sand Balls
- 1 c. butter, softened
- 1/2 c. powdered sugar, sifted
- 2 Tbsp. honey
- 2 c. flour (all-purpose)
- 3/4 c. walnuts, chopped
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
- extra powdered sugar, sifted
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the butter (not margarine), powdered sugar and honey.
- Add the flour, nuts (optional), vanilla and salt (optional).
- Mix thoroughly, using hands, if necessary.
- Shape into 1-inch balls.
- Press 1 1/2 inches apart on a well-greased cookie sheet, otherwise they will stick. Bake at 325u0b0 for 14 to 16 minutes (or until cookies are lightly brown).
- While still warm from the oven, roll the cookies in the extra powdered sugar.
- Place them on a plate to cool.
- When completely cool, roll again in the powdered sugar and serve.
- Makes 48 cookies.
