Butterscotch Wheat Germ Brownies
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 1 cup brown sugar, light
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup wheat germ
- 1/2 cup milk, skim, (non fat) powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup walnuts broken, or pecan meats
- Preheat oven to 350?
- F.
- Using Microwave oven, melt shortening in the mixing bowl.
- Add molasses, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
- Stir well.
- Sift in powdered milk, baking powder, and salt.
- Add wheat germ and nut meats.
- Stir only enough to blend, about 20 strokes.
- Line pan with waxed paper, mitering corners.
- Spread dough in pan and bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350?
- F.
- Turn out of pan, remove wax paper immediately, and cut into bars or squares while warm.
