Cheese Caraway Batter Bread
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 c. Cheddar cheese, shredded (sharp)
- 2 Tbsp. Crisco
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. caraway seed
- 2 2/3 c. flour
- melted margarine
- In mixer bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.
- Add cheese, shortening, sugar, salt, caraway seed and 2 cups of the flour. Blend 1/2 minute on low speed, scraping bowl constantly.
- Beat 2 minutes on medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally.
- Stir in remaining flour until smooth.
- Scrape batter from sides of bowl. Cover.
- Let rise in warm place until double.
- Stir down batter by beating about 25 strokes.
- With floured hands, shape into loaf and put in greased pan.
- Let rise again.
- Bake 45 minutes at 375u0b0. Brush with melted butter.
