Stuffed Pears Recipe Sandsquish
- 1/2 cup finely chopped blanched almonds
- 1/2 cup macaroon crumbs
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon finely grated orange rind
- 6 large pears, peeled
- 1/3 cup sherry, Marsala wine or peach nectar
- Mix almonds, macaroon crumbs, 2 tablespoons brown sugar and orange rind.
- Cut pears in half lengthwise and remove seeds.
- Lightly fill each half with crumb mixture.
- Put 2 halves together and secure with toothpicks.
- Arrange in 8-inch square dish; sprinkle with remaining sugar and sherry.
- Cover with wax paper.
- Microwave with 650 watts for 4 minutes; rotate dish 1/2 turn.
- Microwave with 650 watts for 3 to 5 minutes more.
