Leah Bean'S Raisin And White Cake

  1. Cream shortening and sugar well; add eggs and vanilla.
  2. Beat well.
  3. Add flour, baking powder and salt alternately with milk. Mix well after each addition.
  4. Take out 2/3 of batter and place in separate bowl.
  5. Add 2 teaspoons cinnamon and 1 teaspoon cloves. Divide this batter between 2 greased and floured cake pans.
  6. To remaining 1/3 batter, add 1 tablespoon molasses and 1/2 cup ground raisins.
  7. Pour this batter into a third greased and floured cake pan.
  8. Bake at 350u0b0 for about 30 minutes.
  9. Frost this 3 layer cake with boiled frosting.
