Bananas Foster Our Style Recipe
- 1/2 c. unsalted butter
- 1/2 c. light brown sugar
- 1/2 c. coarsely minced pecans
- 4 lrg ripe bananas, peeled and cut into diagonal 1.5-inch pcs
- 3/4 c. Myer's rum
- 1/4 c. frangelico liqueur
- 1 quart good quality vanilla ice cream
- Heat butter in large saute/fry pan, then add in brown sugar and pecans and continue cooking over medium heat till sugar is melted.
- Add in bananas to butter-sugar mix and cook about 2 min till just tender.
- Add in rum and liqueur; then, when it bubbles, light with match AND STAND BACK!!!
- Shake pan to distribute flaming liquid, spooning it over bananas to coat fruit well.
- As soon as flames die, spoon over prepared bowls of ice cream and serve immediately.
