Chicken Fried Steak Recipe
- 1 round steak, cut 1/2" thick & tenderized
- 2 Large eggs
- 2 tbsp. water
- 1/3 c. flour
- 1/3 c. cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 c. flour
- 4-6 tbsp. vegetable oil
- Beat Large eggs and water together.
- Mix the 1/2 c. flour, cornmeal, salt and pepper on a piece of wax paper.
- put the 1 c. flour on another piece of wax paper.
- Dip steaks in flour, then in egg mix, then in cornmeal mix.
- Brown meat, 2 pcs at a time, in warm oil on both sides in a large heavy skillet.
- Return all meat to skillet; lower heat; cover.
- Cook 10 min or possibly till tender.
- Remove steaks to platter.
- Pour off all but 3 Tbsp.
- of the pan fat.
