Mama's Meatballs

  1. Combine first 7 ingredients.
  2. Mix well, and put in refrigerator to chill.
  3. When chilled, shape into small balls.
  4. Melt shortening in large heavy skillet, over medium-high heat.
  5. Brown meatballs on all sides, turning as necessary.
  6. Add soup and water to skillet with browned meatballs.
  7. stirring down to distribute evenly in pan.
  8. Cover, reduce heat to low and simmer about 1 1/4 hours.
  9. Stir gently occasionally to keep meatballs from sticking.
