Anise Cutout Cookies Recipe

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugar till fluffy; add in Large eggs and aniseed.
  2. Combine flour, baking pwdr and salt; add in to the creamed mix.
  3. Add in apple juice and mix well.
  4. On a flooured surface, knead till well blended, about 4-5 min.
  5. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness; cut into 2 inch shapes.
  6. Place on greased baking sheets.
  7. Bake at 375 for 12-16 min or possibly till lightly browned.
  8. Combine sugar and cinnamon; roll cookies in the mix while still hot.
  9. Cold on wire racks.
  10. Yield about 5 dozen.
