Fudgy Brownie Cutouts
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. applesauce
- 2 egg whites
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/4 c. finely chopped nuts
- powdered sugar
- Heat oven to 350u0b0.
- Line an 8-inch square baking pan with foil; spray foil with vegetable cooking spray.
- In small mixer bowl, stir together granulated sugar, cocoa and flour.
- Add applesauce, egg whites and vanilla; beat until well blended.
- Stir in nuts.
- Spread batter into prepared pan.
- Bake 25 minutes or until edges are firm.
- Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
- Place in freezer about 15 minutes for easier cutting.
- Lift brownies from pan using sides of foil; carefully peel off foil.
- With small cookie cutters, cut brownies into desired shapes or cut into squares.
- Sprinkle powdered sugar over top.
- Makes 16 brownies.
